The management team at Artemis Technologies is of international calibre and includes experts in the fields of yacht design, aerospace and electronic engineering, strategic and business development, and financial and risk management.
Iain is a four-time Olympian, three-time Olympic medalist, double Olympic champion, and veteran of four America’s Cup challenges. After retiring from Olympic competition in 2012, he joined Artemis Racing as a tactician, and was appointed Team Manager in October 2013. Iain led the team’s successful 35th America’s Cup campaign in Bermuda, reaching the Louis Vuitton Challenger Series final in 2017. Passionate about protecting the oceans, the economics graduate founded Artemis Technologies in 2017. Iain has overseen the company’s transition from a sailing services provider to an applied technologies company focusing on green innovations for marine transportation.
David is a co-founder and board member of Artemis Technologies. He is Chair of Maritime UK’s Regional Council and member of the UK Department for Transport’s Maritime Council and Operation Zero working groups. David joined Artemis Racing in 2014 to lead the Swedish America’s Cup team’s commercial programme. He is a founding trustee of the Andrew Simpson Foundation and played a key role in setting up Belfast Maritime Consortium.
Sarah is a former world junior sailing champion and has a wealth of maritime experience having worked for a number of high-performance racing teams. Sarah was part of the Artemis Racing America’s Cup challenges in San Francisco and Bermuda, before joining Artemis Technologies in 2017. Sarah is Director of Applied Technologies and Services.
Romain is a naval architect. At Juan Yacht Design he was involved with the design of three Volvo 70s (Groupama, Puma and Telefonica) for the 2011 Volvo Ocean Race, as well as multiple race winners SuperMaxi Rambler 88. He worked on appendages design for the London 2012 Olympics for Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson’s Star boat campaign. In 2014, Romain joined Artemis Racing for its 35th America’s Cup challenge. He managed the design and build of two development catamarans and was engineering coordinator. In 2018, he joined Team Gitana. He joined Artemis Technologies in 2019.
Kiera oversees the company budgets and forecasts, financial and tax accounting and reporting, as well as ensuring budgetary control and cash management all while supporting board members in achieving the company’s strategic goals. Kiera has extensive experience within various financial and accounting departments and previously worked for a FTSE100 company.
Tim has over 14 years’ experience in private practice across a broad range of corporate and commercial legal work. In 2012 Tim was seconded to the organising committee for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games and worked on a variety of commercial matters relating to the delivery of the Games in London. As Director of Legal, Tim works across the business supporting all of Artemis Technologies’ activities in the UK and overseas.
Gordon is responsible for the management, coordination and delivery of operations, and leading the industrialisation of the business. He has a wealth of experience across manufacturing and operational services in both the UK and Australia with a track record of success across multiple industries. Before moving to Artemis, Gordon was Vice President of Operations at Thompson Aero Seating. Outside of work, he coaches his local hockey club in Kilkeel. Gordon’s father was a trawlerman so his family has always had a close connection with the sea.
With over 20 years of experience working across various tech start-ups and rapid growth companies, Debbie has extensive knowledge developed within senior HR managerial roles. At Artemis Technologies, she is responsible for both operational and strategic elements of all HR/People functions. Debbie also offers guidance and support to Artemis Technologies’ Directors, Heads of Department, management, and staff on all people matters.
Prior to this he worked for almost 17 years for another world-leading shipbuilding organisation where he started out as a structural naval architect and moved up to the role of Regional Sales Director for the Middle East. Boran’s expertise spans engineering, project management and influential leadership in regional sales within the maritime sector.
Gail has over 25 years' experience working across B2B, B2C, public and private sectors, developing and implementing marketing strategies. Gail is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Marketers. Gail is an experienced sailor, sailing out of Lough Neagh Sailing Club.
